This Friday, around 6:30 p.m., at 27, avenue Lucien-Français, the tenant of an apartment located in this large social housing complex is putting methylated spirits and charcoal in her oven. She turns it on. The explosion is immediate. A fireball hit the victim who was just in front of the oven. She is injured all over her body.
His brother-in-law, who was nearby, is also affected but less seriously. He suffered burns to his hands and calves and was slightly intoxicated by the smoke. He is above all totally panicked in the face of the drama that has just unfolded before his eyes and the state of his sister-in-law.
The firefighters, whose barracks are located at the end of the street, arrive very quickly. The police commissioner of Vitry-sur-Seine as well as the PCF mayor Pierre Bell-Lloch, also went to the scene in the face of this extraordinary intervention.
“A very atypical accident”
The future mother is in critical condition. She was transported to Saint-Louis hospital in Paris by the firefighter resuscitation ambulance. His brother-in-law, meanwhile, is hospitalized at the Kremlin-Bicêtre.
The fireball caused fumes but no fire in the apartment. No relocation was necessary.
