MICHELDORF IN UPPER AUSTRIA. The students of the vocational schools in Kirchdorf are working hard to revitalize the Sthuham cultural center in Micheldorf. They are currently promoting a concert by the Irish folk-rock band Paddy Murphy.
The Irish folk-rock band Paddy Murphy has been delighting Irish music fans in particular since 2008 with their performances in which they play both their own compositions and newly arranged traditional Irish songs. The band, founded by the current frontman Franz Höfler (vocals and acoustic guitar), is currently made up of five members.
International festivals rocked
With their performances in the style of Irish-Speed-Folk-Rock, they delighted their fans not only nationally, but also at international festivals such as the Tollwood Festival in Munich or the San Patrizio Festival Milano. Their discography, which reflects a mix of traditional Irish music and modern punk and rock grooves, includes the three albums Dog’s Dinner (2012), Coffin Ship (2014) and this year’s Rams Rebels Goats & Girls, the EP Whisker Before Breakfast (2011), as well as various solo singles.
Franz Höfler is looking forward to the performance
On Saturday, March 20th, Paddy Murphy will perform live in the Irish Night at Sthuham Micheldorf. The band’s front man, Franz Höfler, shows his anticipation for the evening: “After the C-crisis, I can hardly wait to rock out again with my paddies.” But if you still want a foretaste of Irish folk-rock music, can watch songs and gigs on Youtube. However, entire albums can also be listened to on the music streaming app Spotify.
