Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology decided to stop the selection process for users of the 2.3 GHz radio frequency band, which can be used for 5G networks.
So, what is the reason for the government to stop frequency auctions?
In an official statement from the informatics authority, Saturday (23/1/2021), it was stated that the termination of the selection process was taken as a precautionary and thorough step.
Kominfo said this decision was made to align every part of this selection process with the provisions of laws and regulations relating to Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) in the Kominfo environment.
“In particular, Government Regulation Number 80 of 2015,” explained the announcement made by the Acting Officer of the Public Relations Bureau of Kominfo Ferdinandus Setu.
At the end of last week, the Selection Team submitted an official letter regarding the information on the termination of the selection process to representatives of cellular mobile network operators who had previously been announced as Selection Participants who passed the Administrative Evaluation.
As a follow up to the termination of this selection process, Kominfo has returned the selection participation agreement document (bid bond) that had previously been submitted by the selection participants.
The Bid Bond is returned to the participant on Friday 22 January 2021 and received directly by the representative of the Selection Participant concerned.
The Ministry of Communication and Information as soon as possible will take further steps that are more careful and careful to ensure that the radio frequency spectrum is a limited natural resource.
Especially in the radio frequency band of 2.3 HGz in the range of 2,360 – 2,390 MHz, the maximum benefit can be given to the people and nation of Indonesia.
