National Education plans a day of action this Tuesday, January 26, 2021

“It’s a day of action that will call for others,” said Anthony Buchert (FO 88). The trade unionist explains the fed up with National Education, which continues to cut positions (- 129 in the secondary level for the Nancy-Metz Academy at the start of the next school year) and which offers teachers overtime.

Under fire from the critics of the inter-union, the reform of the Bac, “not thought” and carried out at all costs by the Ministry of National Education and a minister “who does not listen”.

With a decree which makes it possible to modify the organization of the Bac up to 15 days before the organization of the tests … The inter-union also denounces the disengagement of the State which should materialize in the coming months by the transfer of nurses and school doctors to the departments.

Overall, teachers continue to implement the Bac reform in difficult conditions given the health context and the fluctuation in setting up the schedule. “I have students who I find sad in the final year”, remarks Nicolas Thomas, departmental manager of the FSU and history teacher in Remiremont.

“We do not prepare all our students in the same way, whether they come from Épinal, Val-d’Ajol or Plombières. We are already arriving with very tired students and enormous inequalities, ”explains Nicolas Thomas. Nicolas Starcevic (CGT Education) notes more and more students who drop out, especially in high school with the stress of “specialties”, imposed by the reform of the Bac. “It’s all the harder for them to choose, since they have the impression of playing Russian roulette,” explains Anthony Buchert.
