As of January 22, two units were still hatching at the Rivière-Rouge Service Center, indicates the CISSS des Laurentides. At the height of the outbreak, there were three affected units within the hospital as well as two living environments located within the walls of the establishment.
In particular, the CHSLD L’Équip’emploi has been hit hard by the virus. As of Thursday, January 21, there were four deaths linked to COVID-19 as well as 11 cases still active, or 13% of residents. This is what the document reveals “Status report of active cases and deaths by CHSLD”, published by Quebec. The CHSLD was therefore still under surveillance (orange level).
At the height of the outbreak, more than 60 people, patients and employees, were tested positive at the Service Center.
Active cases
According to the document “NUMBER OF COVID-19 CASES BY MUNICIPALITY AS OF JANUARY 21, 2021”, there were 23 active cases of the virus in Rivière-Rouge and 26 on the Mont-Laurier side. This report is updated once a week, on Thursday.
Seven other municipalities, out of the 18 that are part of the Antoine-Labelle MRC, then had at least one active case of COVID-19 on its territory, indicates the CISSSLAU. Note that for confidentiality reasons, exact numbers are not released when there are 1 to 4 local cases. In La Rouge, this is the case for La Macaza and Nominingue.
