Wanted by the French authorities for crimes of common law and illegal stay, Said Haddadi, a 25-year-old Moroccan youth, was extradited last Monday by the Catalan police. Refugee in Spain, the individual threatened to exterminate all the Mozos d’Escuadra using a kalachnikov.
–The suspect was questioned on January 15 for offending authorities: after spending a short time in preventive detention, the Moroccan released a video on Snapchat, in which he made threatening statements against the police officers. He stated that “he would shoot with a kalachnikov” at all the Mozos d’Escuadra, reports the spokesman for the Catalan police.
The man planned to escape to the police by choosing the social network Snapchat, where the videos are automatically deleted. But, it was without the surveillance of the investigators, who immediately opened a judicial investigation to locate him.
Three days later, Said Haddadi was arrested in San Feliu de Guìxols and tried for terrorist threats. For the authorities, the Moroccan’s statements represent a real threat, knowing that the country is on a level 4 anti-terrorist alert. It should be noted that the Moroccan, who appears in the data registered at the level of the Schengen Information System (SIS) , was immediately handed over to the French authorities without going through a court in Spain.
