Grant for organ renovation granted

Various construction projects were on the agenda of the Uettingen municipal council on Tuesday. Two building applications, the new construction of a balcony and a roof terrace, Am Finkenflug 43 and the construction of a single-family house with a separate apartment and three parking spaces Am Finkenflug 8, the committee granted the municipal agreement.

The municipal council has now also given its approval to a preliminary construction request for the construction of a semi-detached house at Kirchbergstrasse 15, which in August 2020 was not given a building permit due to the need for clarification on the development of the water supply. The client has given the municipality a written assurance that it will bear the costs for the construction of the development facilities.

Exemption not possible

As part of a building permit procedure for the expansion of a dental practice at Am Windshöfner 22, an examination by the district administration revealed that the building permit cannot be granted on the basis of the existing development plan. The background is that the required exemption with regard to the building limit is not possible for formal reasons of building law. The municipal council decided to make the project possible by partially canceling the “Kirchberg” development plan for the three eastern properties (Am Windshöfner 22, 20, 18).

The recalculation of the water consumption fees for 2020 resulted in a deficit of 69 439 euros. As a result, at the end of the 2020 budget year, the special water reserve was in the negative range at around EUR 8,000. There was also a deficit for wastewater in 2020: for wastewater the result was minus 36,554 euros, for rainwater it was minus 22,475 euros. The special waste water reserve for 2020 was minus 21,388 euros at the end of the budget year, and that for rainwater was minus 16,596 euros.

Grant applied for

For the restoration of the organ in St. Bartholomew’s Church, the Evangelical Church Community has applied for an investment subsidy of 5000 euros from the community. The total renovation costs are around 58,000 euros. The community’s own contribution is around 31,000 euros. Further grants have been applied for from the following institutions: 5000 Euro Kulturstiftung Unterfranken, 5000 Euro Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation, 5000 Euro Foundation Orgelklang, 2000 Euro Community Foundation Würzburg, 5000 Euro Dean’s Office Würzburg. The builder of the organ was Georg Martin Gessinger (1717 ?? 1791) from Rothenburg. It was installed in 1760, rebuilt and expanded in 1880 by Sigmund F. Braungart, Marktbreit. In 1977/78 it was restored by the Steinmeyer company, Oettingen. The prospectus is decorated with rococo shells, the pipe labia are painted. It is the only surviving Gessinger organ in Lower Franconia.
