NBA Karl Malone hits out at Zion’s fitness
Fworms NBA star Karl Malone is the latest to weigh in on New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson‘s physical conditioning.
Williamson, the No.1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, endured an injury-plagued first season in the league and has since had his fitness questioned more than once.
Malone, a 14-time All-Star with Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers, believes in Zion but delivered some brutally honest assessments on the second-year player.
“I love Zion Williamson, but he needs to get into shape. If he doesn’t get in shape, we might not ever know his full potential,” said Malone.
“I’m still waiting on him to play the whole damn season. News flash: we’re still waiting.
“And he needs to be averaging 40 minutes a game. Look here, you’re a 21-, 22-year-old kid-your a**e shouldn’t get tired.”
This season Williamson is averaging 23.4 points and eight rebounds in 32.6 minutes of action per game.
