More and more companies in our region are up to their necks. The IHK Ostwestfalen reports of existential fears because in many cases the financial reserves have been used up. Without massive state aid, hardly any company could survive.
Every additional day of the lockdown puts a massive strain on companies and increases the risk of bankruptcies, says IHK managing director Petra Pigerl-Radtke. Simplifying access to federal aid and increasing funds is a good thing. However, the money would also have to be paid out quickly, which has not worked so far.
In addition, larger companies run the risk of reaching the maximum level of state aid if they stand still for a long period of time and then get nothing. According to the IHK, the situation is particularly critical for the catering and hotel industry. Not only financial help is needed here, but also perspectives.
