A former nurse at the Bois polyclinic in Lille was sentenced yesterday Wednesday, January 20 for manslaughter. He was sentenced to 3 years’ imprisonment, two of which were suspended, for injecting coagulated plasma, which led to the cardiac arrest of a patient in 2011. The victim had been admitted for coronary bypass surgery.
The director of the clinic at the time, also sued, was released. The nurse’s lawyer denounces this judgment: “my client pays for the convenience of the clinic”.
An opinion shared by the victim’s family : one of the daughters of the deceased patient regrets that the nurse takes “all charges“: “he is responsible for his death, but the hospital should have taken responsibility. “She criticizes in particular the obsolete equipment of the establishment at the time of the facts.
