No tools
In reality there are several methods, in fact the corkscrew is not strictly necessary. Yet most of these remedies require items that, in turn, we may not have on hand. Not just knives, but also scissors, nails and hammers. They are certainly useful and we will obviously be able to open the bottle with these tools, but what if we don’t have them? If we want to drink wine and we don’t have any kind of tool available, how can we solve it? The answer exists and, to many, it might seem incredible. So let’s see how to open the wine without a corkscrew with this simple method.
A shoe against the wall
It may seem like a joke, but this method actually works. If we have nothing available that allows us to remove the cork, let’s try to use our shoe. So let’s take it off and insert the wine bottle inside, keeping it on the neck side of course. At this point, we find a surface such as a wall, or even the asphalt of the sidewalk for example.
So we start hitting the shoe with the bottle inside against the surface, repeatedly and not too hard. This repeated percussion will in fact increase the level of gas present in the bottle which, as a consequence, will make the cork escape. You just have to be careful not to hit too hard, so as not to risk breaking the glass. Within a few minutes, if you do everything with patience, the cap will gently remove the disturbance.
