Background to the Saarbrücken surveys
– Several institutes at Saarbrücken University are working together for the Covid simulator. The researchers publish forecasts for all federal states, which are intended to serve as a decision-making aid for politics and the health system.
– A lot of data is evaluated for the calculations: In addition to the surveys by the Robert Koch Institute and the district and state health authorities, researched corona case numbers from the newspaper “Berliner Morgenpost”. In addition, clinical data from more than 8,000 inpatient Covid 19 patients from more than 100 German clinics and information from the health ministries.
– According to Saarbrücken University, the simulator has been clicked a million times so far. A German version is in progress.
