A free demo of Balan Wonderworld for consoles and PC will be released on 28 January. The action platformer demo includes approximately two hours of gameplay. The full game will be released on March 26 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, the Nintendo Switch and on Steam.
The demo has a single player and local co-op mode. In the latter, players are the characters Leo and Emma and they must work together to traverse the levels. Balan Wonderworld is a platform game where players’ costumes have all kinds of abilities. These are needed to collect Balan Statues, which can be used to access hidden Balan’s Bout minigames. In the demo, three of the twelve worlds are those Balan Wonderwold gets to see.
The Balan Wonderwold demo will be available for download on consoles from Thursday 28 January at midnight. The Steam version will follow at 5pm. Square Enix announced the game in July last year. The 3D action platformer is made by, among others, Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima, two of the creators of the first Sonic the Hedgehog game from 1993.
