“Better to invest in a new hospital also for a better service”, for the councilor for health Luigi Icardi this seems to be the best solution compared to the one envisaged by the Magni Plan, which instead foresees 53.7 million euros for the requalification of the three hospitals of Saluzzo, Savigliano and Fossano.
The commissioner makes an initial estimate of 170 million euros for a new hospital in Savigliano, for which a suitable location will have to be found. And what about the other three? “The old structures would be dedicated to localized services” confirms Icardi, who adds: “In Piedmont, the health heritage is old, but there will also be funds from Europe for health construction”.
Meanwhile, the first comments arrive from the mayors of the area. “The hospital in the northwest quadrant of the province of Cuneo will have to be built in Savigliano for obvious reasonsi – explains the mayor of Savigliano Giulio Ambroggio -. The city is center of gravity, served by an important railway station, close to the motorway and the airport, and is close to the province of Turin which will also be able to use this structure ”.
“I will highlight in all the dedicated working groups the need to have equal treatment in the reorganization of health services and at the same time I will promote the demand for the enhancement of local outpatient and territorial services essential to guarantee and increase the state of well-being and health of my fellow citizens – let the mayor of Fossano know, Dario Tallone -. I will remember, in the appropriate locations, that if an area is needed for a new health center in Fossano there is a vast territorial area already with a social and health care address “.
“The councilor’s letter is clearly political and therefore still needs definitive technical assessments. Also because in the meantime part of the Magni plan has been implemented – finally reminds the mayor of Saluzzo, Mauro Calderoni -. Then there is another element that needs to be further investigated: we are talking about the new hospital in Savigliano instead of the existing standard mass, the question therefore concerns exclusively the Saviglianesi, or we are talking about the hospital in the north-west quadrant of the province, that is the Monviso hospital, which is a topic that interests everyone? “.
In fact, if the option of the new Saviglianese hospital were approved, the Province of Cuneo would have three central health structures of reference: Verduno, Cuneo and Savigliano.
