The Thuringian State Medical Association is taking action against other doctors who disregard the corona rules. As a spokeswoman for MDR THÜRINGEN said, the chamber now has information on 22 doctors. Specific professional investigations had been initiated against two of them. One case had been handed over to the public prosecutor’s office – because of the issue of allegedly false mask certificates. Of the other cases, eight proceedings were discontinued, twelve were still ongoing.

During the procedure, it is checked whether the doctors violated their professional law with their actions. In principle, doctors have the right to freedom of expression. However, they are also obliged to “conscientiously exercise their profession on the basis of their professional qualifications according to the state of medical science”.
