A white bike already installed in Caluire- DR / La Ville à Vélo

A white march is organized this Sunday in Vaulx-en-Velin to pay tribute to Yannis Benallègue, this cyclist who was fatally knocked down last Friday on the Boulevard Urbain Est.

Gathered at the call of the victim’s family and the association La Ville à Vélo, the procession will leave at 10 a.m. from the Francisque-Jomard stadium in Vaulx-en-Velin and take the direction of the Miriam Makeba esplanade in Villeurbanne .

To educate motorists, the City by Bike will drop off a white bicycle at the scene of the accident. The opportunity also to ask “the competent authorities to secure this accident-prone intersection“.

The Métropole de Lyon did not wait for this white march to announce a development of Boulevard Urbain Est, where three people have lost their lives since 2015. The axis will soon pass to one lane twice, in both directions of traffic, by the installation of 770 guardrails. Signs indicating the speed limit to 50 km / h will be added to those already existing and two educational radars will be installed, in both directions of traffic.
