Ex-LaLiga-Profi
The Spanish third division club DUX Internacional de Madrid has signed David Barral. What is special: According to the club, the striker trained in Real Madrid’s youth is the first transfer in professional football that is financed with cryptocurrency. The 37-year-old last played for Racing Santander in LaLiga2, where his contract was not renewed after relegation in the summer.
The commitment is also a marketing coup, as the Madrilenians handled it with their new sponsor “Criptan”, who trades in bitcoins. Barral, who has made 221 LaLiga games, signed until the end of the season with an option for another year. Inter de Madrid only hit the headlines in June 2020 when the e-sports club DUX Gaming, whose investors include Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (28) and Betis striker Borja Iglesias (28), joined the third division as a co-owner .
