Woman was arrested in Boca Raton for not wanting to wear a mask and public disturbance
— CONDADO PALM BEACH, (AZTECA48) —
A 61-year-old woman was arrested Thursday after she would not leave Einstein Bros. Bagels after refusing to wear a mask, the Palm Beach County office said.
Cindy Falco-DiCorrado, of Boynton Beach, faces charges of public disturbance and resisting arrest for violating a local warrant.
Video of his arrest was posted on Instagram.
DiCorrado entered the bagel shop at Glades Road and US Highway 441, according to the sheriff’s office. She was causing a riot because she was asked to wear a mask and refused to leave the store after several requests.
When an officer arrived, DiCorrado was standing in front of the counter, shouting loudly at customers and employees, saying “you are violating my rights,” the sheriff’s office said.
The deputy asked DiCorrado to stand aside so he could speak with her, but she did not want to cooperate and proceeded to “cite constitutional codes and statutes of discrimination.”
After the officer told DiCorrado to leave the store or to be arrested for trespassing, she refused once again, according to the sheriff’s office.
When the officer gently grabbed her wrist, she leaned back and refused to obey.
Another officer collaborated during the arrest.
