Woman (83) dies of South African corona variant: ‘The complaints were also different’ | Abroad

OOSTENDE – In the AZ Sint-Jan campus Henri Serruys in Ostend, Belgium, the first fatal victim of the South African variant of the corona virus has fallen to our southern neighbors. It concerns an 83-year-old woman. She had no travel history. “The complaints were also different,” says Hans Rigauts, general manager of the hospital. “Not the typical lung complaints, but stomach and intestinal complaints.”
