The Banc de Sang is looking for residents of Mataró who have passed the coronavirus and want give plasma, rich in antibodies against covid, to those who are suffering from it at the moment. Will be next January 21st when this special campaign is held in the Casal de l’Aliança.
The defenses generated in the plasma after passing the virus, the antibodies, can help to cure the infection. The process is carried out by plasmapheresis, a 45-minute procedure that allows only the plasma to be obtained while the blood cells are returned to the donor.
Those who want to participate in the campaign must have between 18 and 65 years; to weigh more than 50 kilos; no having spent a pregnancy; no have been transfused; news Covid passed make more than 28 days and less than 3 months; and have a diagnostic test confirming the disease.
