The traffic jams of the Lino around the Ahuy roundabout, in the north of Dijon, will they soon be ancient history? The prefect of the Côte-d’Or is proposing to develop the area around the roundabout to reduce traffic congestion at rush hour. The project could be completed before the end of 2022.

Thursday, February 14, the prefect, the mayor of Ahuy and representatives of the metropolis of Dijon, the departmental council of Côte-d’Or and the regional council of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté were around a table to discuss the Ahuy roundabout, one of the black spots of the north-west intercommnuale link (Lino) which connects to the ring road to the A38 motorway. This is where the traffic jams are concentrated during rush hour.
This working meeting was the opportunity for the Prefect to present “two development scenarios to be supported by detailed studies”, as state services indicate in a press release. And an “preferential option” is already emerging.
It must allow “to improve traffic flow on this eastern part of the Lino in the short term by bringing immediate improvements to traffic flow and safety”, according to the terms of the press release.
A new roundabout and ramps
No details are given in the prefecture’s speech on the envisaged solution. But according to the mayor LREM of Ahuy, Dominique Grimpret, who was present at the meeting, it would be a question of creating a new roundabout on the Ahuy side and ramps allowing direct access to the Lino, both in the direction of Dijon and the Toison-d’Or than towards Plombières.
“There will be an access to the bypass which will be created on the right of the existing roundabout at Fontaine [en contrebas de la Lino]. So those who are going to take the ring road will no longer take the roundabout on the Lino. And then on the other side, those who want to go to Plombières will pass under the bridge, will join the roundabout that will be created then the Lino “, tells us the chosen one.
This solution has two advantages in his eyes. First, it is already funded. “It is within the framework of what was voted in 2015. Communities no longer have to vote again”. Second, it can be implemented quickly, since the statement of public utility does not need to be changed.
I thank the prefect for taking the file in hand. It wasn’t much to do in the end, it just needed someone to take care of it.

2.3 million euros of works
The prefecture estimates that “around 2.3 million euros” the cost of the work to be carried out. The solution could be implemented “before the end of 2022”
The representatives of the communities concerned took note of the proposal, and gave a mandate to the State services to continue the studies. The prefect will take over the attachment of the communities involved in the planning contract, to lead in the coming month to a financing plan, in which the State will take part.
These changes, which could quickly be completed, do not call into question the “possible options for the evolution of the Lino”. A response to the many times reiterated desire of the departmental council to see the axis pass entirely to 2 x 2 lanes.
“The ongoing assessment of the overall functioning of Lino, within the framework of the LOPSI law, will continue in order to prepare the prospects for the evolution of the infrastructure over a longer period”, adds the prefecture.
