During the outbreak of the corona virus, several regions in North Brabant were severely affected in the spring of 2020. Q fever was also common in these regions from 2007 to 2009, according to the RIVM.
The Jeroen Bosch Hospital and the RIVM conducted research from 2011 to 2013 among people who had an acute Q fever infection in the period from 2007 to 2009. The participants who gave permission at the time to be approached again for follow-up research received a call from RIVM in January to complete a questionnaire. So people cannot register themselves. The participants are asked, among other things, whether they have had health complaints that are (possibly) related to Covid-19 in the past year. If so, they will be asked whether they have been tested, visited their doctor and / or admitted to hospital.
The questionnaire survey will run until 5 February. The data from this is then compared with data on the reports of people with Covid-19 in this region in 2020 and 2021. The results are expected to be published later this year.
