The Brazilian TV presenter Stanley Gusman, 49, died of complications from covid-19 after going public, minimizing the dangers of this virus. The communicator is famous in his country for presenting the “Alterosa Alert” program, where he took a critical position in relation to the pandemic.
The controversial communicator was against the isolation measures proposed by the mayor of Belo Horizonte, Alexandre Kalil, and was suspicious of the efficacy of the vaccines. “I prefer to bring a million chloroquine to VaChina”, wrote in a tweet.
Gusman always opened his daily show at lunchtime, one of the most watched on TV Alterosa, in Brazil. Throughout 2020, the presenter not only stood out for directing the tabloid and police broadcast, but also for openly positioning himself against the social isolation measures imposed during the pandemic, less than a month after criticizing Kalil, who recommended to the city’s population to avoid Christmas family gatherings.
