The rental fleet of the Tyrolean tractor and van manufacturer Lindner currently consists of 70 models. The target group are professional companies and municipal customers who want to expand their vehicle fleet for a defined period of time during peak orders – for example in winter service. Now the company has started a strategic partnership with the German company CashOnLedger. The aim is to put the rentals on a completely new footing. To do this, the two partners rely on blockchain technology. “We lay the technological basis to automate our rental processes in combination with the TracLink system. For us, the workload for rentals drops by a third. Customers benefit from the much simpler processing and 100 percent transparency, ”emphasizes Marketing and Export Manager David Lindner. Customers can check in the blockchain at any time, for example, whether the entries match the actual work done. “With a credit system, the rent always stays within the desired budget. With the help of weekly usage statistics and monthly rental statements, operations can be optimally planned and the customer always has an overview – even with larger rental fleets. “
Cost advantages for users
Thanks to the integration of the TracLink system and CashOnLedger, Lindner receives constant information about the work for which Lintrac or Unitrac is being used. “We know whether the vehicle is only used for simple transport or for more difficult operations. In this way, we can adjust the hourly tariffs accordingly, and customers benefit from considerable cost advantages. ”The aim is to offer rentals completely online in the future: from the choice of vehicle to insurance. Customers load the starting amount into the CashOnLedger system, the amounts are then debited in real time. If the credit is exhausted, it can be refilled at any time.
“For years machine builders have been trying to implement pay-per-use models – but the manual process effort, including the administrative work involved, is extremely high,” says Serkan Katilmis, co-founder and CEO of CashOnLedger. It is therefore necessary to automate billing, bookkeeping and the resulting payment process as much as possible. Only with a machine-to-machine process are such models scalable and sales grow faster than the costs incurred. The programmable euro is necessary to coordinate all of these activities.
Cash on Ledger also integrates other services into the system. “For manufacturers and farmers there is always the risk of a machine breakdown, especially when the tractor is used on a slope,” says Katilmis. “We are therefore working on systematic protection together with R + V Versicherung. The insurance costs are shared between the contracting parties. The premium due to the farmer is included in his invoice for the use of the tractor. “
