The contagion of an employee caused an outbreak in San José asylum

The Covid-19 outbreak that killed 12 elderly people from the San José de Zapopan Asylum began a month ago with the infection of an employee, explains the deputy visitor of the First Visitaduría, Jazmid de la Torre Méndez.
“Later there was another employee who also proved positive and from then on, good, as there were more cases with this fatal imbalance, the death of eleven asylum seekers plus a caregiver.”
Just in April, Human Rights visited several nursing homes, including San José, to verify that the right to health of the elderly was guaranteed due to the pandemic. It was discovered at that time that it did not have an isolation area for infected people. (By Gricelda Torres Zambrano)
