Two years ago, at the invitation of Bernhard Mahler, around 1000 visitors were taken on a cinematic journey through time to the 1960s in Ottheinrichstadt. Now there is good news for the friends of the old recordings who didn’t have the time or couldn’t get a ticket back then. The strips commented on by film fan Mahler are available online for the first time. The so-called data stream is available once on Friday, January 22nd, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

“In the past 15 years I was allowed to present five independent programs and these were basically moderated live presentations,” says Bernhard Mahler and adds: “During the lockdown period, many asked me whether I could offer the entertainment format online, so to speak as an alternative in the now rather barren time. “A survey on the Internet at the beginning of the year quickly showed that the interest is there. Accordingly, Mahler quickly teamed up with Noppo Heine, who runs a corresponding platform and has shown what is possible with the production of “Licht im Theater”, among other things.

The multi-faceted program includes five strips from a very special Neuburg decade. It all started in 1962 with the 100th anniversary of the Neuburg fire department. You can not only see the old fire station in the old town, but also the castle theater and the Mazillis school on Schrannenplatz. This is followed by a film from 1965, which shows, among other things, the new Brandlbad, the young Ostend and many other events of the late Neuburg economic miracle. A visit to the Kaltenstadler bakery in 1967 and the inauguration of the Schwalbangerschule in the same year are also worth seeing. The final step is the high-rise building built in 1969 on Richard-Wagner-Straße. In a press release, Mahler promises an exciting journey through time, which above all shows the cityscape of that time.

The secret of the success of the Neuburg film events has always been the fact that many Neuburgers can be seen in all of the films. And this time, too, there are many familiar faces and events as well as circumstances that are fondly remembered – or discovered for the first time. Everyone who is at home in Neuburg or who has a personal connection to the city now has the chance to experience a very special “Neuburg Film Evening”.

The online demonstration, moderated by Bernhard Mahler, will be available on Friday, January 22nd, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and can be viewed at will within these four hours. Tickets for the approximately 80-minute demonstration are now available for ten euros at www. theos tickets. de on the Internet. DK
