New communications and public affairs officers

Since the start of 2021, two central units have been formed by the split of the Communication and Public Affairs unit: Communication, on the one hand, and Public Affairs and Regulation, on the other. The Central Communication Unit is responsible for the transparency of internal and external communication at SBB and manages the SBB brand. The Public Affairs and Regulation central unit is responsible for developing regulatory and policy positions, SBB’s relations with interest groups and the owner, and company statistics.

Bernhard Meier has headed the Communication and Public Affairs unit on an interim basis since April 2020. He is now refocusing on his original unit, Public Affairs and Regulation, which he has headed as a delegate of CFF since 2009. Aged 56 , he holds a doctorate in geography and economics. He notably worked at the General Secretariat of DETEC as head of the management staff of public and semi-public companies, before becoming Chief of Staff of CFF Cargo.

SBB’s new Head of Communications is Andreas Stuber, 55, previously Head of Integrated Communications. Previously, he held the positions of Head of Internal Communication and Head of Communications at CFF Infrastructure. Before joining CFF, he worked as a journalist and, more recently, as communications manager at the Federal Office for the Environment. Andreas Stuber holds a degree in geography and economics.
