More misinformation campaigns than ever stopped

According to its own statements, Facebook stopped more misinformation campaigns in December than ever in a month before. A total of 17 such networks have been identified and blocked, the US company announced on Tuesday. In addition, more than 2,800 accounts and pages on Facebook itself and on the company’s Instagram photo service were blocked, among other things because false identities were used there.

Facebook targeted eleven countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Morocco, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Most of the election-related cases were misinformation campaigns launched by local users.
