That night, he literally boned the Bulls of a Michael Jordan already in gluttonous mode as he won his first NBA scoring title with… 37.1 points average.
In his loose and athletic style, the Hawks icon martyrs Chicago’s defense of his high-altitude dunks. He plants 19 of his 28 shots, and 19 of his 21 free throws to lead his franchise to an easy victory against the Bulls, coached by Doug Collins, still far from what they will become.
In his third year, and a young record holder for points in the playoffs, Michael Jordan tried to complicate his life. “His Majesty” scored 41 units, almost half of Chicago’s points, but it is not at the level of a Dominique Wilkins who walks on water and much superior Hawks.
The two have made an appointment, however, and two years later, they find themselves in what remains one of the most spectacular dunk contests in history!
