The result is there after about 15 minutes
In the Böttger pharmacy, the rapid test is mainly performed by people whose relatives belong to the risk group. Even people up to 70 kilometers away, says Wittig.

However: The rapid tests are so-called antigen tests. They showed whether someone is contagious – or not. “There is only a small window of time for visiting a nursing home, for example,” says Wittig, “namely of around 48 hours”. Therefore, only people who have no symptoms can be tested. Body temperature is measured before the smear. The result is clear after about 15 minutes.

Four of the more than 60 rapid tests have so far been positive for customers of the Böttger pharmacy. The pharmacy must report them to the health department. The tested must be in quarantine and do a PCR test at the doctor. The pharmacist earns little money from the tests. The prices in the pharmacies are different – between 30 and 150 euros.
