Since Olympique Lyon still managed to score 2-2 at Stade Rennes despite a 2-0 deficit, Olympique defended the Ligue 1 table lead with 40 points ahead of the club from the capital (39). The Argentine Pochettino took over from Thomas Tuchel, who had been on leave as a coach for Christmas, at PSG earlier this year.
