Professional football Suwon Samsung announced on the 11th that it has signed central defender Choi Jeong-won (26), who played for Japan’s J2 League (second division) Faziano Okayama.
The contract term is until the end of 2022.
While attending Konkuk University in 2017, Choi Jeong-won was the captain in the 14th Denso Cup Hanil University regular selection, driving the team’s 2-1 victory and becoming the best player in the tournament (MVP).
He joined Okayama in 2018 and played 48 games (one help) for three years.
The Suwon team said, “Left-footed Choi Jeong-won is 186 cm tall and has a high RBI and wide range of defense.
We expect to build a stronger and more stable central defense line with Min Sang-sang and Henry,” he said.
Jeong-won Choi said, “Suwon is still my hometown.
I am honored and grateful to join Suwon Samsung, which has been my dream and goal since I was a child,” he said.
After returning from Japan, Jeong-won Choi, who completed self-isolation, participates in the field training held in Jeju with the team on the 13th.
