Stefanie Bomhoff from Bassum posts a new picture online every day – Syker Kurier: Latest news

Stefanie Bomhoff has been taking at least one photo a day since 2015 and has been sharing it with the Instagram world since 2019. Images from all the years can be found in 13 “photographic diaries”. (Vasil Dinev)

June 12, 2019 was an important date for Stefanie Bomhoff. Because since this summer’s day, the Neubruchhauser has published a new picture on Instagram every day. There are now 574 photos on her Instagram account “stefaniebomhoff”. But the actual starting shot was a few years earlier. “I am a member of the Camera Club Bremen. A couple of colleagues there had already started to exchange a picture with each other every day and I then joined in April 2015, ”she looks back. From now on, recordings were only shown on a small scale and not in the social medium. But then the self-employed entrepreneur decided to share the pictures with more people. After all, it’s nice when people look at the pictures and are happy about them. Nonetheless, the amateur photographer adds: “I started the whole thing as an exercise and still do it more for myself. It really exercises a lot. “

In 13 “photographic diaries”, as Bomhoff says, the pictures from 2015 to 2019 are combined on Instagram. “Sometimes I look into the books and that’s how I remember the days,” says the Instagrammer. Only very rarely does she fail to publish a daily photo on Instagram. “Before I go out into the garden for several days in a row in the same weather and take the same photo due to lack of time, I occasionally take one from another day,” admits the amateur photographer. But isn’t it exhausting for you to upload a fresh picture every day? “No, that is my highlight on many days and a welcome balance to my job,” answers the self-employed. Because she has been running the “Druckarte” company since 1993 – her own advertising agency. The entrepreneur explains: “Because of my job, I sit at my desk all day. It’s a nice change to see what other than my workplace, that is, to go somewhere or to go out into nature. “

In fact, there are many nature images to be found on her Instagram page. “That is of course a little due to my rural home,” explains the amateur photographer. But nature offers not only idyllic, but also action-packed backdrops. For example, a climbing squirrel can be seen at close range on one of her Instagram pictures. Another image of nature that emerged before Instagram is no less spectacular. A heron is photographed there devouring a toad. “To take the picture, I ran up on my stomach. A single ray of sunshine is visible in the picture and it fell exactly on the heron. That was pretty cool, ”enthuses the bassumer. In addition, she loves to photograph the starry sky. But Bomhoff is by no means limited to nature photos. Before her activity on Instagram, for example, a daytime picture of an off-road vehicle covered in mud was taken. And the company owner is also not limited to a specific location: Photos have already been taken in Namibia, Amsterdam and Portugal, among others – all of which can be seen on the Internet.

An endless wealth of ideas

Meanwhile, the entrepreneur does not run out of ideas. “Because there is always something available,” she outlines. When looking for the right motif, she often proceeds spontaneously. “When I have the camera close at hand and move around, it is not uncommon for pictures to be taken that I do not plan. Sometimes it’s pure coincidence. ”A few years ago, coincidence was also a“ completely bizarre event ”. Bomhoff was in the garden when suddenly the fire brigade drove up and started an exercise in the neighboring field. Of course, the amateur photographer did not have to be asked twice and grabbed one of her cameras. She owns a Sony, a Fujifilm, an Olympus as well as a drone camera, which is used in good weather and is useful, for example, for high-altitude images of fields. According to Bomhoff, every camera has its own advantages. Due to the provision of a special mode, the Olympus uses it primarily for light painting pictures, the most recent of which was only created on New Year’s Eve. “This sparkler picture was technically very demanding, but nothing has been edited,” she says, not without pride. In general, she takes a lot of photos, “which require more technical effort and a little more knowledge.”

The bassumer started taking photos as a young girl. “When I was 13 or 14 years old, I took part in a camera group at my school that my geography teacher organized. So he basically infected me. But my uncle also got me to take pictures. ”Nevertheless, she did not take photos as actively for many years. However, for more than ten years she has been significantly more active again. “At some point I was looking for a photo group where you could exchange ideas and receive constructive suggestions for improvement. So I drove to the Camera Club, got stuck there and joined the club in 2014, ”recalls the self-employed. “There are crazy people like me in the club. I can let off steam with them, ”she adds with a laugh. She is now the first chairwoman of the Bremen group. “We are looking for young talent,” emphasizes the top of the club. Incidentally, the club competes against other clubs. “Some of my daily photos have already won competitions,” says Bomhoff happily.
