Maurice Manificat makes history by climbing to 2nd place overall!

The French delight us on the Tour de Ski! After the first career podium for Delphine Claudel Earlier in the day, Maurice Manificat left its mark on the history of cross-country skiing by climbing on the podium of the general classification of the Tour de Ski, 2nd behind the untouchable Russian Alexander Bolshunov and in front of another Russian, Denis Spitsov. The Vercors skier is the first Frenchman to post such a performance. He finished 4th in the 2017 edition and adds a sacred line to his already impressive record with three Olympic medals and three world medals.

A major performance after having played at the front throughout the Tour, with a first podium in Val Müstair during the 15 km classic style, then a second this Sunday during this final climb of Alpe Cermis, 3rd behind the Russians Spitsov and Bolshunov.

Overall victory and a record for Bolshunov

In addition to winning the Tour de Ski for the second time in his career, Alexander Bolshunov broke the time difference record with his runner-up, held by the Norwegian Martin Johnsrud Sundby with 3”15. The Russian wins today with a 3.25 lead over our French cross-country skier.
