SYDNEY: Indian spinner R Krishnan has been accused of racism at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Ashwin.
Ashwin’s revelation comes after Indian players Mohammad Siraj and Jaspreet Bumra had a similar experience this time.
Siraj and Bumrah were racially abused by spectators on the third day of the third Test between India and Australia in Sydney. The Indian cricket team had officially lodged a complaint with match referee David Boone after the match ended on the third day.
Despite the complaint, Siraj had a bad experience again on the fourth day. Six Australian fans have been kicked out of Sydney Cricket Ground for abusing Siraj.
Ashwin said he was surprised by the racist incident in Sydney even after the Indian team lodged a complaint. Ashwin told the media that stern action should be taken against such people.
“Things were not so bad in Adelaide and Melbourne. But this is common in Sydney. I have had similar experiences in the past. The fans here are misbehaving. I don’t know why they are doing this, “said Ashwin.
Cricket Australia, meanwhile, condemned the incident.
