Greens want to enforce home office with fines for companies

Berlin: In the corona pandemic, Green Party leader Göring-Eckhardt wants to oblige companies to enable home offices. In the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung” she called for a corona occupational health and safety ordinance with sanctions for unintentional companies. If employers demanded presence in the workplace for no reason, pressure must be applied with fines, said Göring-Eckhardt. The federal government has the legal possibility to issue nationwide rules. So far, the federal and state governments have only urgently asked employers to enable more home offices. Bavaria’s Green parliamentary group leader Schulze appealed to the state government yesterday to make home office the standard. In the public service, the Free State could lead by example, said Schulze in the BR.
