A parent cried in shock after discovering the incredible gift his son gave him.
Social media star Jamie Nyland surprised his father Richard by paying off the rest of his mortgage so he could retire early.
Jamie, who lives in Gloucestershire, has over 2.3 million followers on TikTok and thousands of subscribers on YouTube, shared the emotional moment he shared the big news with his father.
In a video that has been seen over two million times on TikTok, the 24-year-old enters his father’s bedroom and throws his father a set of house keys.
Confused, Richard catches it and asks why he gave it to him.
“I just paid off your mortgage,” Jamie replies.
“No, you haven’t,” replies the father, thinking it’s some kind of prank.
“I paid off your mortgage,” he repeats. “I literally just called the bank and paid back every penny on your mortgage. You own the whole house now. ”
Richard shakes his head in amusement.
“I swear,” adds Jamie. “You worked all your life and I just paid your whole house for you so you can actually retire now.”
When asked why he did this, the son replies “because I love you”.
His father sheds a few tears and explains that he is so emotional and loves him too.
“I just can’t take it from you,” he says. “You are the best son in the world that you can have.”
Jamie quickly tells him this is what he deserves before Richard adds that one day the house will be his too to repay him and that he will be set for life
“It is in the will, the house is yours, what is mine is yours and I love you so much too.”
In the video comments, Jamie explained how he could afford it.
He wrote, “For those of you who ask how – I did Vine for four years and I did YouTube for ten years. It was my only goal. I am so grateful for everything. “
Thousands of people responded to praise his hard work and kind gesture.
One person replied, “Every parent will want such a son. Bless. “
Another said, “Such a beautiful father and son like OMG, such an amazing thing.”
“Oh my god, I’m not crying (honestly). What a guy, ”added a third.
Another commented, “Damn man, you have a big heart, I love it.”
