What is the plot of “Rangers of the New Republic” about?
When Disney announced the series, “Rangers of the New Republic” would be set around the same time as “The Mandalorian”. A little later, producer Jon Favreau became more precise on the US show “Good Morning America”. He stated that the action will start a few years earlier – right after the events of the film “Return of the Jedi”.
The plot takes place at a time when the heroes around Luke Skywalker have only just defeated the empire. The New Republic takes power to restore peace and order. But in this early period a lot is unstable.
“The Mandalorian” already showed that the empire has not completely disappeared. There are still high-ranking officials who are up to mischief. “Rangers of the New Republic” will essentially revolve around the challenge of the New Republic to maintain order in these chaotic times.
Cast of “Rangers of the New Republic”: Which actors are part of the cast?
There are no confirmed cast details yet – characters who were introduced in “The Mandalorian” are likely to appear. It is particularly likely that Cara Dune will play a role. The figure played by actress Gina Carano used to belong to the rebel alliance, but turned away from the government after the war – only to be back in action for the New Republic later with a marshal rank.
