The 76ers were in New York to face the Nets there on Thursday.

Philadelphia came in with the best record in the NBA (7-1), while the Nets had a 4-4 performance since the start of the campaign.

It was nevertheless Brooklyn who had the upper hand 122 to 109, thanks to a solid performance from Joe Harris (28 points and six rebounds) and Caris LeVert (22 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds).

This 76ers loss is certainly (in part) attributable to the absence of Seth Curry. The latter had an average of 30 points in eight games this season, but on Thursday, an ankle pain prevented him from entering the field. He actually spent the first quarter on the bench, but we haven’t seen him since.

The reason is simple: selon Adrian Wojnarowski, the 76ers learned in the middle of a game that Curry had tested positive for COVID-19. The 30-year-old was then reportedly placed in segregation.

Nonetheless, this positive result meant that the 76ers were unable to leave New York after the meeting. Selon Shams Charania de The Athletic, the entire formation had to be placed in quarantine.

However, the Nets would not have seen fit to do the same. According to The Athletic’s Joe Vardon, the team are still planning to face the Grizzlies in Memphis tonight.

As for the 76ers, the next scheduled meeting is to take place in Philadelphia on Saturday, against the Nuggets. It is not known for the moment if this match is still on the menu. Star player Joel Embiid has, however, already indicated that he would be placed in voluntary isolation, without his family, until he is convinced that he has not caught the coronavirus.
