The German professional football player Aaron Donkor (Göttingen) got a place in the NFL’s International Pathway Program (IPP). The 25-year-old linebacker convinced the scouts of the US professional league in a selection process and now has the chance to be signed by an NFL team as one of eleven international players.
“I am very happy about this nomination. My hard work in recent years has paid off for me,” said Donkor, who played basketball in the 2nd Bundesliga a few years ago: “I thank God for this opportunity.”
Previously, fullback Jakob Johnson (New England Patriots) and defensive lineman David Bada (Washington Football Team) had made it into the NFL through the non-American talent program. Johnson scored his first touchdown in the world’s top football league in September.
