Five people died after a corona outbreak in a nursing home in Grimmen. 54 people tested positive for corona.
A total of 54 residents and nurses have been infected with the virus in the Kursana nursing home in Grimmen (Vorpommern-Rügen district) since mid-December. The current cases affect 31 residents, and there are also 16 cases among the medical staff, said a Kursana spokeswoman. Those affected are now in quarantine. Since the house is relatively large, the affected residents can be easily separated from the others, it is said.
Infection process cleared up
It is already known how the virus got into the home, informed a spokeswoman for the Vorpommern-Rügen district. However, there is no specific information on this for reasons of personal protection. The home remains closed to visitors for the time being.
