Rabih Yassin affirmed that the FIFA decision to cancel the World Youth Championship is a message from God and justice after what happened to him.
The Egyptian youth team had withdrawn from the North African Championship that qualified for the Nations Cup due to the Corona outbreak, with the team’s mission in Tunisia.
“The cancellation of the World Youth Championship is a justice from God. I worked for 21 months with everything I owned for my country,” Rabih Yassin said in statements to the “Dressed Awdat” program.
He continued, “I count all this to God and the nation. I have been working since five in the morning for Egyptian football. We would have returned a championship to Egypt, and we would honor Egypt in the World Cup.”
He added, “We were fighting for that tournament, working without rest. I expected all players to be honored. They are heroes. Why were the salaries of the coaching staff cut off in the last month? What did we do and what was their fault?”
And he continued, “Jamal Muhammad Ali Talib that we travel with 26 players, although I wanted to travel 30 players, this is for the financial cost.”
He stressed, “He has written many things in the report. I want him to confront me with these accusations.”
He concluded, “I did not contact any official in the state or the respected Minister of Youth and Sports to pressure me to travel early in Tunisia. The state supports the right things. Everyone agreed to the decision to travel early.”
