WHA table leader WAT Atzgersdorf started the new year with a win. The 2019 master celebrated Wednesday afternoon at HC Sparkasse BW Feldkirch a 27:23 (12:10) success.
SSV Dornbirn Schoren defeated ROOMZ HOTELS ZV Handball Wr. Neustadt 20:18 (14: 6) and MGA Fivers won the duel with bottom group HIB Handball Graz 40:31 (18:13). Record champions Hypo Niederösterreich left UHC Eggenburg with 40:18 (24: 9) no chance at the end of handball Wednesday.
The Feldkircherinnen found their second game within 24 hours well, were 7: 5 ahead in the 19th minute. The favorite from Vienna struck back with a 5-0 run and did not give up the lead until the end. However, it remained exciting until shortly before the end. Because Atzgersdorf was able to break away with four goals several times, but not in a preliminary way. Feldkirch fought his way up to -2 again and again. Only Johanna Failmayer brought the guests to victory with her goal at 26:23 one minute before the end.

Dornbirn beats Wr. Neustadt
Dornbirn drove in the home game against Wr. Neustadt a third win of the season, won the first WHA-TV match of the day 20:18 (14: 6). MGA Fivers against Graz sovereign
MGA Fivers lived up to its role as favorites and easily beat Graz in the Hollgasse by 40:31 (18:13). Although the Styrians were able to fight their way from 2: 8 to 8:10 at half time, it shouldn’t get any closer. In the second half, the Viennese initially managed their break to break away even further in the final quarter of an hour.

Eggenburg has no chance at Hypo Lower Austria
Hypo NÖ celebrated a start-to-finish victory against Eggenburg. The record champion finished the Waldviertel women in the second WHA TV game on the holiday 40:18 (24: 9) and defended his clean slate.
Despite the clear result, Hypo Lower Austria coach Ferenc Kovacs was not completely satisfied. At the beginning of the second half there was a little lack of concentration. “We tried things there that we didn’t practice. We have to learn to stay focused for 60 minutes. Because not all games run as smoothly as this, ”explained Kovacs in the ORF Sport + interview.
Eggenburg coach Tibor Csoka summed up: “It was a difficult evening. We weren’t patient enough in the first half and made too many technical mistakes. I tried to calm the players down during the break. In order to look better against a team like Hypo NÖ, we have to increase the pace during training! “
Hypo is one point behind Atzgersdorf in second place, but has played one game less. Eggenburg (9th) achieved three wins in eleven games.
