Al-Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane was not convinced of the team’s striker Aliou Badji’s potential, which led to his departure in the current winter transfers.
A source from Al-Ahly – who asked not to be named – revealed to FilGoal.com the details of Badji’s decision to leave the club and loan to Ankara Guzhou.
He explained, “Musimani since he came to Cairo airport and asked Badji to leave, and confirmed that he was not convinced of the player’s capabilities and requested his departure from the team.”
And he continued, “Within a few hours, Ankara Gozo will reach 250,000 euros to Al-Ahly, the value of the loan until the end of the season, with the Turkish team’s eligibility to finally include the player after that.”
“As soon as we receive the loan amount, we will send the international player card,” he added.
Regarding the reason for Badji’s move to the Turkish League, the source explained, “The player had offers from France and Spain as well, but he preferred the Turkish club due to the presence of a friend in the team, so he decided to play with him.”
“We will bear a small part of the player’s salary during the loan period, and things went smoothly,” he added.
Badji had joined Al-Ahly club during the last season’s winter transfer window, coming from Rapid Vienna, Austria.
The 23-year-old participated in 25 matches with Al-Ahly. He scored 4 goals and scored 8 others.
