It is true that most people can get the vitamins their bodies need by eating a healthy, balanced diet every day of the week, but how often do you stick to that? What vitamins would you need to add?
There is a common deficiency in vitamins that appear later in life, and they can all be treated by taking a daily nutritional supplement, but what are the best supplements for a better healthy life? .. This is what we review according to the British “express” newspaper.
B vitamins
A spokeswoman for the British Dietetic Association, Priya Teo, revealed that people in their lives are more likely to have vitamin B12 deficiency.
Symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency
The NHS notes that vitamin B12 deficiency (known as folic acid deficiency anemia) can develop gradually.
If left untreated, it can lead to physical changes, such as a pale yellow color on the skin and redness of the tongue.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can affect the way you feel, and cause tingling, irritability and depression.
Also it can even affect your appearance, as vision disturbance may occur; Deficiency of this vitamin can also lead to decreased mental abilities.
If your vitamin B12 is low, it may affect your memory and understanding.
Talking to your doctor about your symptoms and having a blood test can determine if you are deficient in this vitamin. The longer the condition remains untreated, the greater the chance of permanent damage. Thus, taking a daily vitamin B12 supplement of 2 mg is unlikely. Cause no harm.
Vitamin C
If you don’t eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, vitamin C supplements may be the answer to better health.
Chronic vitamin C deficiency – that lasts for three months or more – can lead to a disease called scurvy.
Early warning signs of a vitamin C deficiency include the following symptoms:
Fatigue and weakness.
Muscle and joint weakness.
Easy bruising.
Spots that appear as small red and blue bruises on your skin.
Other symptoms can include:
Dry skin.
Breaking hair.
Swollen and discolored gums.
Sudden and unexpected bleeding from your gums.
Nosebleeds.
Impaired wound healing.
Problems fighting infections.
Bleeding in the joints causes severe joint pain.
Changes in your bones.
Tooth loss.
Weight loss.
Again, discussing symptoms with a doctor and performing a blood test can determine whether you are deficient in vitamin C.
Vitamin C deficiency can be treated by eating a diet rich in vitamin C and taking vitamin C supplements, and once treatment begins, symptoms quickly improve within days or weeks. A large orange a day will provide you with enough vitamin C.
Vitamin D
People over the age of 65 are at high risk of vitamin D deficiency.
It can be difficult to meet our vitamin D needs through sunlight and diet alone. For this reason, it is highly recommended to take a daily vitamin D supplement, as 10 mg is sufficient.
However, there is currently a campaign by scientist Dr. Gareth Davies to have governments around the world increase their daily vitamin D recommendations.
