Five clubs out of 16 have booked their qualification cards for the group stage of the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League, which saw the presence of the two parties to the final match of the past version, Al-Ahly and Zamalek.
Zamalek, the runner-up of the last edition of the continental championship, was the first to qualify for the group stage in the Champions League, after the withdrawal of Chadian rival Al-Ghazala team from the 32nd round of the competition.
Al-Ahly, the African champion, joined him by defeating its guest Sonideeb, Niger’s champion, in a 4-0 win today, Tuesday, in the 32nd second leg of the competition, to climb to the round of 16 by winning 5-0 in aggregate.
Malian player Aliou Diang scored for Al-Ahly in the first leg of the away match, before the red giant showered the nets of the Nigerian champion in the four-way comeback match, signed by Taher Mohamed Taher, Walid Suleiman, Badr Bannon and Mahmoud Kahraba.

South African champions Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs qualified for the group stage after the elimination of Botswana’s Guaneng Galaxy and Primero de Augusto of Angola from the round of 32.
Sundowns – African champion 2016 – won the first leg 0-2 away from home, to climb to the African Champions League (Round of 16) groups, winning 5-1 on aggregate.
The goals of the Sundowns were scored by Kermit Erasmus, Motobi Mvala and Thabilo Morena in the 39th, 68th and 81st minutes, before Tibuju Simboa narrowed the lead for his Batswana team in the 89th minute of the match.
At the November 11 stadium in Angola, Kaizer Chiefs succeeded in eliminating the first team of August, “Primero de Augusto” after beating it with a goal by Leandro Castro on Tuesday, after a tie in South Africa.
Kaizer Chiefs managed to qualify for the first time in its history to the African Champions League groups.

And a resounding surprise was achieved at the end of Tuesday’s matches, after Morocco’s Raja bid farewell to the African Champions League, defeated by the Senegalese team, Tenguet, who wrote history in their first participation in the oldest competition in the African continent.
Raja lost the return match, which was held at its home, 3-1, after a penalty shootout in the middle of the rain, to bid farewell to the competition after a goalless draw with Tenguit back and forth in Senegal, Tuesday evening, in Morocco.
The remaining 11 seats in the champions’ groups will be decided on Wednesday, when the 32nd second-leg matches of the competition are completed.
It is reported that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) was held earlier today, Tuesday, to hold the draw for the group stage of the Champions League, and the second 32nd round of the Confederation Cup next Friday at the Federation headquarters in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
