HOUSTON, Texas. – Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo was very concerned about the increase in cases of positivity of coronavirus in the region that has reached 14.8%.

“We are in a situation that has not improved and that continues to worsen and that continues to require action on the part of every resident of this county,” said the official.

In an official statement by the agency under his charge, Hidalgo commented that hospitalizations in the Intensive Care Units (ICU) continue to increase and have exceeded the level of June when the county entered the Red Alert and in July 1,200 people died for coronavirus.

“All the numbers in Harris County are getting worse,” said Judge Hidalgo, while once again urging the population to continue in the fight against the coronavirus and avoid meetings of all kinds.

Hidalgo points out that if a slight improvement has been registered, but it is not enough and it does not mean that people should stop continuing to take care of themselves as has been done since the beginning of the pandemic.

Currently, the Harris County Health Department reports 1,700 daily cases in its territory.
