The Weeknd recently wanted to change his profile picture. So far nothing abnormal. Except that the photo he chose to illustrate his Instagram account hides a funny story, quite funny.
This portrait that one could judge as abominable of The Weeknd is actually a failed drawing that has gone viral on the web. This is the Twittos albert who posted the image on their networks, stating “I drew The Weeknd”. With his Twitter account which counts more than 500,000 subscribers, albert has made the buzz (retweeted more than 20,000 times with 265,000 likes) and the image reached The Weeknd who decided to use it.
But eventually, we learn after the fact that it is not at all the work of Albert, but of another talented artist who responds to the name of Tw1tterPicasso. (talented, you will judge for yourself–same). Going up his profile, we realize that the drawing dates from November 15, 2017, and that Albert simply stole it to create the buzz... We also discover that he stole several other drawings, without ever giving credit to the author....
In any case, this drawing has a real story and it now sits at the top of the Canadian singer’s Instagram profile..
