Ten minutes of free parking
For 2019, around 6.6 million euros are to be booked from parking space management – this should mean a decline of a good quarter (25 percent) in 2020. That year there were also strong price increases: in parking zone 1 the hourly price rose from 1.80 euros to 2.60 euros (80 cents more, increase by 44 percent), in zone 2 from 1.30 to 2 euros (70 cents , almost 54 percent) and in parking zone 3 from 0.50 to one euro (50 cents, 100 percent). On the other hand, there has also been the so-called bread roll button since then – it grants ten minutes of free parking.
The number of employees involved in the inspection was unchanged from the previous year. In the state capital, 35 posts have been set up in traffic monitoring for part-time workers. The employees do patrols inside the city ring. A further 14 sales representatives (also part-time employees) are responsible for monitoring the outskirts.
