Víctor Hugo Borja Aburto, Director of Medical Benefits of the IMSS, assured that since April 2020, that institute has paid 3,132.6 million pesos, through a Covid bonus, to 161,807 doctors and nurses on the front line of battle against the new coronavirus.
Despite the fact that doctors from hospitals like La Raza of the IMSS have demonstrated to denounce that they have not received the Covid bonus, despite having contact and caring for patients with coronavirus, Víctor Hugo Borja Aburto said that this payment has been made.
He highlighted that said extraordinary benefit for doctors and interns, nurses, inhalotherapists, laboratory workers, radiological technicians, orderlies, cleaning personnel, ambulance personnel, food handlers, medical assistants, social workers, pharmacy personnel, stomatologists and cytotechnologists, the March 16, 2020 by the IMSS Technical Council and on April 13 it began to be paid.
He indicated that to date 161,807 workers have been paid with a general amount of 3,132.6 million pesos.
“It is a recognition of an economic nature that is granted to medical and non-medical personnel who work in direct care of the Covid-19 health contingency, and is granted up to a 20% bonus”, because they have a risk of becoming infected when they are in first class line.
